Wiring my runner for a trailer.
I have installed aftermarket lights and stuff but never trailer lights. Is it tough to do? Are the kits model specific? Where is the best place to get them?

Are you talking about a "wiring harness" for your rig FOR trailer lights?
Model specific and easy to do. I'd try some place like Summit racing etc for the wiring harness...as it will be cheaper than you local auto parts place, if they have it. Also you might check Uhaul.
But regardless...very easy.

The wiring harnesses are very simple and always work right. They are simply plug and play. I've used them several times on different vehicles. Just make sure that your harness hasen't already been hacked up by someone else that tried to install lighting without one. Once it's all hacked up you might as well just do it without the harness.
Of course, if you bought the truck new then you already know the history.
Good luck.

Check out www.previaparts.com
Its a Yota dealership out of Florida that is very knowledgeable.
Call the 800 number and just tell them what you need. I have ordered tons of OEM parts from them and they don't charge shipping (on certain orders) or sales tax. The trailer harness for my truck ran me like $30-35 but they had to order it so it took ~a week to two.
