Wiring harness ?

I just picked up a 95 3.0 that had a five speed trans. I am putting it into my 90 auto 2wd. will the wiring harness from the 95 work on with my tranny and ECU?

Nope - the ECU controls the trans - you need a harness (and ECU) for an auto.

It's my understanding that the motor pretty much talks to the ECM and vice versa. Add the auto tranny and you have the ECM communicating with that as well.

If the ECM can't find or talk to the 4WD components, I don't think it would be a problem unless the ECM is looking for a signal from 4WD to control the auto tranny.

I wonder if these comments helped at all.
