The split casing has disinegrated around some wires near the firewall and they are resting on the valve cover. There is also a plastic piece in the second picture that holds the wires up off of the intake manifold & valve cover which has fallen apart as well (below the dash pot).

Just out of curiosity, would any of these wires go to the knock sensor and would heat affect them?
