Wire? 93' 3.0

Anyone know about the wire that plugs into the valley and then comes up to connects above the intake? What does it do, what is it for, what oes it connect to? 93' 4Runner 3.0 V6.

I believe you're referring to the knock sensor wire.....which connects to the knock sensor underneath the lower intake manifold.

The knock sensor is there to detect knocking in the motor and report to the ECU to cut the timing back to prevent damage. It runs from the sensor to the ECU.
