Im trying to test my ECM, and one of the steps says to test one of the terminals using the "body ground" as the ground source, but it doesnt tell you where thats at. Does anyone know where the body ground is located?

Also this is on a 3.0

 

Any bolt that is screwed to the body is a "body ground". One or more of the bolts attaching the ECM to the body sidewall is acting as a ground and can be used. Check for good continuity by testing the continuity from the bolt to the negative terminal of the battery with the multimeter (using a piece of wire to extend the test lead if necessary.)

 

Thanks bugs. I tested the E1 terminal (which is the body ground terminal) of the ecm to the negative terminal of the battery and was reading .1 volts. Is it just me or does that seem a little high? Im also reading .1 volts from the igt (igniter) terminal of the ecm and the specs are .7-1.0 volts. Does this mean my ecm is bad? I should also add that my truck wont start due to no spark.
