my boss brought this up today, lol

I was joking around and messing with him, cause he's so easy to get fired up, it's funny, lol, and he said "if you keep mess'n with me, Imma loosen the lugs on the passenger side of your truck so you'll have a matching dent on that side!" lol

My buddy lost a rear wheel not long ago snapped all the studs, full size Dodge. Not fun trying to find parts. I lost a trailer wheel on I85 outside Atmore Alabama tryin to outrun a t storm one night never found the wheel musta went in the swamp, will never forget tryin to find parts on a Sunday in Atmore. Found out the next day there was 5 tornadoes around us. Let loose at about 75 or so. The power stroke was just startin to talk pretty. Wound up grinding the heads of some grade 8 bolts and stuffin em in with a bfh. Had to burn em of when we got back to Richmond. Every stud was gone. Same damn trailer on 81 somewhere in New York did the same crap. Never saw that tire again either. Kinda hilly so were'nt strokin quite as hard. Found a little tire shop, got a wheel and tire all the parts and couldnt jack it up, their fork lift almost wouldnt do it. 3 of us had to climb on the back. Finally read the little decal that said to check the touqe every so often, guess what? They meant it, never lost another. Thank god it was a tandem axle trailer. Glad none of y'all got hurt.

Here they are!

Ok... here is the carnage... I was able to grind most of the bent backing plate that was keeping the drum from seating correctly... i lost the drum on impact and blew the wheel cylinder bringing it to a stop once i crossed over onto the shoulder (the wet stuff is brake fluid) Funny enough the tire rolled very nicely down the road about 300 yards and came to a stop upright unassisted in the middle grass.

PS... NO BODY DAMAGE!!! it must have puked the wheel fater than a drunk sailor in a squall!!!

anywhoo.. here are the pics... i am seriously lucky that this is all that was done at 70 mph...

Yeah, my friend was lucky, the guys rear axle/drum came out with the wheel and flew across the road.. oh not to mention that there was a semi truck with 2 decks full of sod beside us when it happened... at first i just though it was some chunk of dirt falling off which caused the smokish dust, yet to smell burnt tire and see a tire going down the road lol

Different wheel style, different lug nuts.

Its that simple.

I wouldn't use anything but an acorn lug nut on a wheel that is made for an acorn lug nut.

Or you could live dangerously. You probably only carry one spare so carry 6 lug nuts in your tire tool bag. Drive as long and fast as you normally would.
