I felt really stupid though...like I can work all around my truck and even rebuild the engine but I can't tighten the lugs

The scratches on the asphalt only go for like 20ft-30ft.

I tire hit a tree and stopped in its tracks. I got out of my truck and the first thing I did was grab the crappy tire. LOL

Done that before. lol. Was trading tires with another truck and a friend was helping. Make sure you check over your buddies work on your truck when they're finished.

repair shops can, but individuals cant. if a wheel falls off and damages property, the county holds the last documented repair shop accountable, if it was within a certain period. plus either way, i doubt thats true, there are so many wheel off's its not funny.

You're a real moron for knowingly driving on loose lug nuts, not only that, but driving 40mph. Do you think of consequences ever? The tire or the truck could have struck someone. I really question the wisdom of your parents for letting you still drive.

I'm not sure why you keep posting your little mishaps either, I'd be plain embarrassed myself.

Invest in a torque wrench. That strikes me as a terrible idea.
