Setting up for the next project and found a 3rz that the current owner describes as having "a spun bearing"... Yeah I know I can go to pick-n-pull and get one luck-of-the-draw for a couple hundred bucks, but what's this one worth?

Also, what other questions should I ask about this motor?

 

No idea how much it is worth, Definitely less than what a rebuilder would charge for a core. I would see how long it was run knocking. If it spun a main bearing, then it needs to be line bored. Rod bearing wouldn't be as bad. You should probably see if you can pull the oil pan and look. Look for discolorations on the block near the main bearings.

 

...and who knows what else is wrong with it? It spun a bearing for SOME reason....

 

I would only pay $200 at the most.
