What would it take?

Well in my previous thread I stated how I threw a rod in my 22r with only 3200 miles on it. My question is what would it take to install a v6 motor... I have v6 front and rear 4.88's... what else is there? or should I just stick with another 4 banger?

In all honesty, I think you would be better off doing a 3.4L swap. Course it would be super easy to just drop in or rebuild your 22r.

auto or manual... Its no small task but well worth it. I would love to put a supercharged 3.4 5spd drive train in my 4runner.

It has a manual trany that was put in with a new clutch about two monthes ago. What would I have to change or modify to add a 3.4 v6. I know of one out of a 4runner with 68,000 miles on it for 1,100... Is that a good buy and what would it take to install?

To go from a 22re to a 3.4, you're going to need new motor mounts, a body lift or cut hood... depends on the transmission that you've got to know wether or not you need a different one. also, you're going to need ecu, wiring harness, new exhaust routing... there's a slew of things involved in an engine swap is what i'm trying to say.

I would stick with another 22R or re-rebuild the one you have. My main questions would be why did a motor with only 3200 miles on it spin a bearing in the first place? That's not normal.
