What was that recall on 2nd gen OD?
Concerning the overdrive not shifting until the coolant reaches a certain level, can someone tell me what the recall was on 2nd gens for this? Toyota did a recall back in the day for 6months only that basically replaced some sort of module that allowed more coolant to pass and would accept the coolant at a cooler level. Instead of me paying to have this replaced i'm going to fight toyota to replace it themselves for free. So I need the specifics. I know the 2nd gen overdrive issue is the most common problem that will forever keep showing up in all toyota forums...thank you for your reply.

i thought this was a safety feature (when i had my 2nd gen)... when it heated up, 4th was avail.
i guess i learn something new everyday *shrug*
i actually like how on the 3rd gen, it wont go past 3.5k when it's cold.
oh ya... sorry, no help for you

I've learned to live with it once I read in the manual that it was normal. Didn't know there was a "recall" for it. I live a mile off the highway so if I let it warm up a minute or so and then take it easy until I reach the highway everything's alright.
