what gears do I need

I have a '94 with a 3.0 V-6 and auto trans. I am planning on running 35's and was wondering what gears do I need to get.

Probably 4.88s or 5.29s.

Actually, with the auto I'd recomend 5.72 for sure, with the auto you will need some steep gears to maximize your fuel economy and performance. Auto aside most people forget the rolling weight of larger tires. And contrary to those who would say that 5.72s are weaker, a quality gear will be as strong or stronger then stock.

35's on IFS is stupid. Get 33's and 5.29's.

well, if you've got 31's right now, you should have 4.88's already. So for 35's, 5.29's at least, but you'd probably be better off with the 5.72

I'd tend to agree, unless your planning on using it onroad only, I'd also consider upgrading your brakes as well to regain some of the lost breaking with larger tires. Also check the axle code on your truck and confirm the gear ratio that will help confirm it has 4.88s to match the current tires.

your stock gears are 4.88's. if you want to go 35's, you'll want to go 5.71 if your goal is to maintain similar overall ratio. 5.71's are not the strongest, though people (ZUK) do wheel them w/ success. If you don't plan on any hard core wheeling, this is the route I would go. Otherwise, go 5.29's. Also, I'd consider sticking w/ 33's on those 5.29s as well.
