What does this rpm adjustment do?

This little box I found behind the glove box what is it for? It says rpm on it and it don't seem to do anything to the blower speed.

To my knowledge, it changes the engine rpm at which the AC compressor will kick on. That's how it seemed to work for me when I replaced all my AC components.

Ok cool I had the dash apart trying to find out why my blower motor sounded like a tin can of marbles when I turned it on high and seen the box and was woundering. Come to find out I had a acorn laying in my blower wheel bouncing around.

Speaking of ac components even tho its only 30℉ outside. I remember than I was having problems with my ac when I was trying to recharge it. I am sure the pressures are different in 134a them they are in the old r12 but I took the compressor out cleaned it out and put new oil in it and converted it but it seems that it keeps kicking out on too high head pressure and will only activate the clutch for about 30 secs then kicks back off. Not real sure what I am doing wrong cuz my pressure is only running between 25 and 40 psi on the low Side.
