What does the box above rear axle do?
Hello, I need information about the brake system on a 1991 Toyota pick up, the part I am wondering about is on the rear axle the the part that travels from the box, down to the axle. From what I can figure it is some type of adjustment that would aid in braking if a heavier load was being hauled? What I am looking to do is eliminate this and am just trying to find out what parts/knowledge is needed to do the job, if there has already been a decusion on this I do appologize but I was not sure what the correct terminololgy for this was so the search did not yeild anything helpful. Thank you all for your advice.
