4Runner is looking awsome. I think that's a good way to do things. I might have to look into purchasing an older body 4runner for my trail ridin vehicle down the line somewhere.

nice job

pardon my ignorance, but what is it you are coating the frame with.

I think you made that whole "wirebrush the frame" thing look too easy, but you have me rethinking the state of my frame. At this point I am using the pray and wash alot method to keep the Wisconsin salt at bay.

well i used a wire cup/wire disk/and flap disks to get the frame bare metal (where factory paint still stuck i left) cleaned it with brake cleaner to remove any dust or debris, then primed and painted it. this summer i plan on hitting it up again with POR-15 if it starts to rust again

Looks good, i just coat my frames with the rustoleum flat black rust remover, it makes it look good, and it works well in past experiences.

Looking good so far. I know what the rust demons are like.

I would POR 15 your frame. It's on the to do list for my 82.

i can deffinetally go farther but 2 wheel drive dont get you to far

all i need now is

fix the windsheild rust
get and install gears
measure and install shocks
shock mounts in rear
drive shafts
boomerang shackles

:woohoo: the list gets shorter

i didnt use a kit it is mostly trail-gear parts with RUF and tg 3in rears (i would go with the 4in because once these settle it will sag again )

and the tires a 37x12.5x15 goodyear wrangler MT/R's

Looks good. Rear definitely needs to be broken in haha it looks like the rear is not even flexing. Only other thing I would do is take care of the rust, great job...
