After my water pump fiasco, I am ready to re-fill my cooling system. I really don't feel like shelling out $14 a gallon @ the stealership. What is everyone else running besides Toyota Red?

Ok, after a little research, this is what I am faced with. The Toyota Red is a long life coolant, which I wasn't aware of.

I could just use the green, but I would have to get it out every year. $7 a gallon, flush once a year= $21 over a 3 yr. period, plus the headache of flushing.

$18 a gallon for Toyota red will last 3 yrs

As the Toyota website states, it has chems. in it to protect water pump seals. Could this be the reason my WP lasted 15 yrs?

I could use Zerex G05, but it is expensive and it contains some silcates. If I am going to spend the money, why not Toyota.

Toyota red it is.

Glad you talked yourself into using the right fluid. You will be glad you did and it really is cheap insurance.
