well thats weird...when I run my A/C

ok so im driving through town today and all of a sudden, my engine starts revving on its own. i kept driving it like this and for the life of me could not figure out what was making it do this. then as im just about to get out, i noticed the AC button had been turned on. So i shut it off, and walla. back to normal. So, this made me think. couldnt figure out why the AC would make the engine rev? because it takes power from the engine? any help with this is great. thanks!

The A/C compressor is cycling on and off when its on REV's go up and when its off REV's go down so it normal, now if the A/C was on and the compressor didn't cycle on/off nor did your REV's go up then that would be weird and troublesome just like my A/C system
