6.5-7K is to much to even start this truck at. Im hoping to start it at 4.5K. Probably start it on ebay, since stuff always sells there haha.

have you even looked at the market here.
i went to some small time dealers before i bought my 4x4extra cab, looking for such a truck, and they all said, these trucks last a day or 2 at the most.
really, start high.
this is the west coast, not the rust-belt.
and everyone has more cash out here. really, with the storms were getting, many will have the money for a truck like that.
and, haters, have you even seen his truck, come-on. when he gets a vw, do you think he will let it get run-down.
any car can be a hunk of crap. also any car can be well maintained and awesome.
chill out on the shock of someone selling a yota.
besides, hes not buying a miatta or a pink beetle. fkars

it is always a good idea to 'feel out' the market. don't just pick a price or you could be screwing yourself out of alot of money because you did not know you could have done better. put it in the paper for 6~7k, see what happens... realtors do this all the time with houses. some people will put the house up without planning to sell right then just to get a feel of the market.
lets get off our
and help the guy outremember, he did not ask what he should buy, he ask what we though he could get out of his truck.

i think people are laughing because your going from a lifted truck that you personally have done so much too, and know how great toyotas are, and you are swapping to a car that, i dont think anyone on here (except the guy with 14 vw's wth??) drives one lol.
i know my friend has a gti, and that thing is fast... hes at 50,000 and no problems yet.
my stepmother had a golf, (basically 4 door gti without the engine goodies) and it gave her some bad problems. but she doesnt take good care of her car either. so i cant say. i would just recommend getting another yota. but whatever makes you happy my friend.
come help me on my yota then lol.

Ugh people are so immature... Good luck with your new car! And make sure to stick around yotatech still!

People take on a gang banger mentality when it comes to defecting to another brand. With that said.
A lot of people here are talking out of their ass if you want a VW go for it they're fun cars. I have owned a few.
I would start your trucks price at $4500 OBO

hey, i like those jeeps! (don't know jack about them but like 'em).
i've had a few vw and its been my personal exp with them that they are um...constantly needing maintenance and are only good for young guys that want to learn how to fix cars. a buddy at work just got his wife a brand new jetta and the next day had to drive it back to the dealer b/c the pass window would not roll down.
anyways.......to anyone who thinks he will get anything over $3k for it, you're all smoking crack! lol..................... buick motor? lol.......omg, thats not why people buy toyotas. i don't car what part of the country you're in if you get close to $3k for it, take it and run. worst waste of money is to modify a car, especially in questionable ways, if you're not planning on keeping it forever. on the other hand...theres an idiot with more money then brais born everyday. good luck, maybe you'll find one of them.

I would probably offer 1500-2000 dollars...and you could keep the motor and 5 out of the 7 inches of lift

Why the hell can't people shut up about the Volkswagen? Jesus.
Personally, if I was near you and had the money I'd give you around 5k for it.

I would start at $4500 and pray you get $2500.
Why do people talk about the VW? Because they are piles o crap. My wife has one and every morning I wait for the call that "this thing won't start." 00 Jetta. 2.0. The Oil Eater.
The 1.8? Sludge monster. These cars have electrical issues beyond belief as well.
I think people are trying to spare you the headache of owning one of these german craps. I am not saying stick with Toyota (because your truck is hardly a Yota anymore), I am staying go out and buy a Focus. Infinitely better car than the Golf.

I would think it's worth about 6 grand, but getting that much is another story.
Wow I cant believe all the Vdub haters out there. Yeah I can agree that some may be lemons for whatever reason but thats true with all cars. I havent had a single major problem with my golf tdi, we bought it new in 01, did all the scheduled maintenance and dident bag the out of it, and 220,000 Km's later she still purrs like a kitten.
My old 88 fox ran awesome, mechanics and people who thought they knew anything all thought it was gonna die and told me to sell it...a few years later after many road trips and some light off roading she rolled into a ditch and was never the same. But the thing would seriously go anywhere.
At any rate I have had great luck with my VW and I will buy another in the future. Expecially for new cars nothing else come close as far as design and attention to detail. Think it's all BS go drive a kia and see what driving a piece of crap is really like.
