Nah, its goin SAS soon enough, so I dont care too much about the front end.
Popped the cover, covered up the ring gear, worked perfect.
Spent a few cans of brake clean and a good half hour with a magnet making sure there were no left overs.
Turned out flawless.

I get that alot.
2 reasons:
1. I dont want to eat tires driving it everyday, run with the hubs unlocked
2. I'm SASing soon, why spend the money on a front locker when I'll have no use for it soon enough, where as an 8'' locker I can use front or rear with my SAS.

Setup is temporary. I figured since the IFS is going soon anyway, why not have a little fun with it while its still here.

Makes sense, I suppose.
slipper in the rear won't tear up the rear and running the hubs unlocked up front keeps the spool from tearing those up.

But, how does it run locked and loaded?

That green paint is amazing! Is there a color code, or was that a custom mix?

Previous owner painted it. I believe he said it was a GM color, I dont recall.

She runs fantastic. However doesnt flex enough for the traction, she likes to get tippy. Traction is definitely no longer my limiting factor for wheeling.
Hell I might not even need a solid axle anymore!

Yeah, once people get locked front/rear it opens up a whole new world.

I cant believe I almost forgot to tell you guys.
We put a drain bucket under, and got the diff super clean with brakeclean, draining into the bucket.
Afterwards we pushed the bucket under the truck so Kinzer could get under and start welding.
A spark hit the bucket and POOF!
Scrambled around for a fire extinguisher. Got it out pretty quick thank goodness.

BTW, you DO know that when exposed to the heat of an arc brake cleaner becomes deadly phosgene gas, right?
