Your buddys hubs probably have how many hundreds of thousands of miles on them?

They probably are just due for a rebuild ...or maybe they are under or over greased which will cause the same symptoms...

The lock hubs should solve your problems except for the whole getting in and out of the truck to lock the hubs in or making 20 point turns on the trails as your buddies laugh....oh and the breakage...carry spare CVs

btw, i never trusted my ADD either after it left me stranded and I had to walk 2 miles barefoot thru the woods (dont ask)

I need to ask about the barfoot thing!

Doesn't sound as bad as when me and some buddies went wheeling in the snow and we got stuck and he had to help us dig out in sandals.

Your right, they might need a rebuild but I had them apart last fall and they seemed to work fine.
Like I said before, with only one locked it would be the same as now, I could lock the other one for those "WISH I HAD A LOCKER FOR THIS" times. Ike mentioned that lockers save cvs. Is this because it tranfers power evenly? 50% to each rather than 100% to one. I think in some cases though, the tire that wouldn't spin when open, might have too much traction or wieght, causing it to break in a locked situation. just a thought.
