Not sure if this has been posted before but if I accidentally try and open the driver door while it is still locked I can not pull up on the manual lock knob. I have to put the window down and pull on the handle from the outside, this "resets" the lock knob and then I can pull on the knob.

Its a 95 4runner.

 

Take the interior door card off and you can probly see which linkage is binding. Hit all the joints with a graphite lube or lithium grease. Maybe one of the plastic clips broke...

 

Yeah, probably the plastic clip. A small zip-tie would work in a pinch or just buy a new clip.
