A way around LC Engineering super expensive dual row conversion?
#1
So I am wondering can I use a timing chain for the 20r (a dual row) and a cover for the 20r on my 87 22re?
I wore through the cover on mine and as long as I have to make changes, might as well upgrade where I can.

No, the timing cover is too tall. And no, you cannot simply "shave it down"
If there was a simple cheap way to do this, i doubt LC would make much money selling a conversion.

I just wanted to ask, some of the stuff I have been reading says you can use a 22r cover, others say you cant.
As far as LCE they make good stuff, no question about it, but some of their stuff is based on a name. Like a LCE valve cover, how is that worth the extra $.
Just trying to do it on the cheap, that's all

Takes time to make them valve covers look pretty
$160 is a pretty reasonable price considering the valve covers are basically NEW. Remember, not everyone holds things in the same value as others. One mans trash might be another mans treasure.
