w56-A vs. w56-B transmission HELP

From the MC website it said the w56-A is from an 85 efi truck and the w56-B is from an 86-88 efi truck.
Are there any major differences between the two transmissions?
I need to replace my trans and I found a good used one from and 85 4runner. Will it work on my 87 4runner.
Both are 22re engines.

Yes it will work. Any differences are inside the tranny and won't affect any installation.

IIRC, the only difference was one or two gear ratios were different.

edit: in rather minor ways

Ok, so that transmission fell through. I found another one from an 89 4runner 22re.
Correct me if I'm wrong but as long as the donor 4Runner was NOT ADD equipped it should work, right?
My 4Runner doesn't have ADD so I think this other trans will work.
I looked at the MC website again but since they have changed there website I can't find the info on what the differences in the transmissions are.

Thanks, I saw the pics, but on there old site there was a breakdown of which transmissions went with what year trucks. It was a very helpful table. I should have been more specific.

I should also add that I am also getting the transfer case with the trans, so I don't think I have to worry about top of forward shift.
