Voltage guage dances

When I start my 93 4x4 3.0, the voltage guage moves around side to side and then stabilizes. Any suggestions?

get the alternator checked, then the battery

Check your grounds... I believe they are battery to chassis chassis to clock block to alternator. check to see if any of them are loose then check your alternator and battery
