Vibrations when braking!
#22
If your mechanic replaced ALL the u-joints, the driveshaft needs rebalanced. That is only if he seperated both pieces of the driveshaft. Once they come apart, they must be rebalanced. If it was just the rear ujoint, disregaurd the previous statement. I would look very closely at your rear brakes. make sure all the adjustments are right, your E-brake isn't sticking etc. It might not be a bad idea to check the axle shafts at the same time. If everything is good, turn the drums again or replace them. I felt the same thing on my truck after I redid my rear end. The new drums I put on ended up being more square than they were round. after a good turn, brakes were fine. Good luck.

well...its been about a week now...problem still isnt fixed! Still vibrations when braking and still vibrations at 40 mph. Looked under the truck and the front seal on the rear end I replaced is leaking again! What can this be! I am getting tired of wasting my money in seals...this is the 3rd one!!

Alright replaced the front rotors and turned the drums, vibrations when braking are eliminated!
But here is the deal the vibrations at about 40 are still there and in my opinion are getting worse. The vibrations have a hum to it as well, the humming vibration starts at 38mph to be exact and lasts until 47-48mph then it doesnt vibrate anymore. I need some help here, I have tried two new u joints, some kind of sleeve on the rearend(mechanic installed) and still vibrations exist. Any knowledge of this situation would be greatly appreciated!

Some may scream that this is reckless, but - If you can find a way to put the rear end of the truck up on jack stands or on a lift without the rear tires on, spin the speedo up to "vibration" level and see if you feel the vibration. If you still do, you now at least know it's not a bent/unbalanced wheel. Then start looking to the driveshaft.
Did you already try setting the drive-shaft 180 degrees from where it is right now? If not, I would try that before going through the above motions.
