Vibration problem solved..thanks!

Got a 94 runner that has had a driveline vibration problem since I've had it (about 6 weeks). Between 40 and 6o miles per hour it would vibrate, you could feel it most around the shifter. U joints seemed ok. Took to a couple of places and was told tires needed balanced. Still had the vibration. I could feel it in the driveline. Found this board, researched the problem and was led to the locknut on the output shaft of the transfer case, under the companion flange. Dropped the driveshaft and sure enough the nut was barely finger tight. Cranked it down, restaked the nut and voila! No more vibration. Thanks yotatech! Awesome resource of information. If anyone else has this problem it's easy to get to and quick to check. Thanks again board members.

Clinchguide, good to hear that you found the culprit. I am still trying to narrow down mine ( https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116...r-hour-162275/). The companion flange would be one of the few things I have not considered. Do you have a manual or auto?
