I'd advise against it; it does in fact throw the camber WAY out under suspension movement (surprising not so much toe as one might think though), and it wore my new tires down pretty fast

but it does look neat, and allows for some rather easy wheel flex actually

but I didn't have the diff drop bracketry, so I used a set of 4Crawler's 1" spacers

but I see you're SAS'ing anyway, so that was a complete waste of a post, lol

I'm glad you decided to give up on that Rancho kit. After our phone conversation I think the SAS is a better option for the type of wheeling your wanting to get into, but don't think LT is down for the count just yet. The "Grudge Match" between the 1985 vrs. 1986 4 Runners that 4WD Toyota Owner Magazine is featuring may surprise everyone. Make sure you get a subscription to the magazine or at least pick up a copy.

Awsome to see your getting things rolling! I'll be following this build thread closely. Be sure to keep record of how many hours you spend from start to finish. Also keep track of the cost of parts and materials. Jot down a list of the tools you used. I was completely shocked with how much a professional shop charges for a SAS.

As an antithesis to the SAS, last Saturday me and two friends installed a Bazeland kit on a 1986 4-Runner while attending the DMZ event at Ocotillo Wells. We started at 8:30 PM and were done by midnight. I busted a knuckle an my buddy mistakenly grabed the wrong beer can and got a mouthwash of used brake fluid. Other than that it went fairly smoothly.

The DMZ jump compition on Suday was spectacular to watch, a completely different level of performance from SAS or "bolt on" Long Travel. I can't believe I forgot my camera!
