Valve adjustment 1993 4x4 with 22re

I purchased and high performance head from LC Engineering,. The valve adjustment specs are intake 8 thousands exhaust 12 thousands. It won't start zero compression. The mechanic that installed the head
adjusted both the intake and exhaust 10 thousands. LC Engineering has no explanation why it won't fire up with the 8 and 12 thousand spec.

No, the engine won't start with zero compression.
I'd go after that first. A leak down test would be informative.

22re cam has .393 of lift? i don't see how a couple of thou difference on the valve lash would give you zero compression.

how do you know that it has zero compression?

I would check that the mechanic installed the timing chain correctly. Even if he adjusted both intake and exhaust at .010 it should still start. No compression on a new head would indicate wrong valve timing and hope he didn't get it too far out and bend the valves. THAT would give you zero compression. 8 and 12 on the valves is a hot adjustment, if adjusting cold you can go 7 and 11 respectively
