Valve Adjustment

I will be adjusting my valves tomorrow. How hard of a process is this and what is the measuring tool I will need to do this? I am very nervous about doing this. Tips/Tricks?

easy, but important to be accurate. you'll need 12mm endwrench, flathead screwdriver and some feeler guages. .008 intake .012 exhaust. Also need a 19mm socket 1/2 drive to turn your engine over. This might help a bit

It would be best if you ran a search on valve adjustment. Since the topic has been covered many times, many a'peoples have offered their tips and tricks at doing it.

It's not hard, as you'll see. You just need a 12mm wrench and feeler guages to do it. Find out what the factory tolerances are for the 22r valves as I believe they're different (but, not much) than 22re's...which is what's covered in most of the related threads. Even then, since many are setting their tolerances a bit tighter than factory, it won't hurt anything. Just don't want them TOO loose or tight, eh.

Use MMA_Alex, thook, or even 4crawler usernames in your search....although, there are many others you could use. Those are just off the top of my head.

Oh yeah....and that part...

It would also help a bit to remove a plug or all plugs to ease turning the motor.

Huh...I guess they are the same. So much for Yotatech search engine. I read they were different. My mistake.

Get engine good n hot, mechanic gloves would probably help. If its been a long time since its been done you may want to get a new valve cover gasket with the 1/2 moon plug for front and back of head ( come with some head gasket kits, they need to be siliconed check FSM) along with rubber gommets for top. Enjoy.
