Has anyone ever tried to put the dash, instrument cluster, glovebox, heater controls, steering column components, etc from, say, a 90 4runner in an 86? I would think things would be, for the most part, the same, but there may be some offset in certain screw holes, etc, and I know the ignition switch is on the dash in the later models where it was on the column before, but outside of that, is this a doable upgrade, or would I be better off trying to find replacement parts from my own generation?
