How can you tell if the u-joints are going bad in your truck? I have an '88 yota pickup 3.0 and 5 speed 4x4. When shifting it feels like there is a bit of lash in the drivetrain.... Also on take off in 1st and 2nd gear there seems to be a slight driveline vibration, goes away as the torque decreases and truck is up to speed.

Just looking for some ideas....

just go under the truck, drop one side of the d shaft, and rotate it and check if it has alot of play
