truck problems 22rte 87

1987 toyota 22rtec pickup
the other day my driveshaft blew up and i drove home with no rear driveshaft about 2 miles at low speeds, and i heard popping every now and then when going home.
im put in a new drive shaft but now while i was backing the truck up the it popped loudly after 15 feet and it is regular. did i screw it up too much? its coming from the rear axle it looks like its shaking to the side if i need to i can post a video on youtube or the something. thanks

You might want to figure out just what caused the driveshaft to fail??

Just how did your driveshaft blow up ??

Did the rear lock up from something breaking ??

You never checked just what was making the noise before calling things good??

the driveshaft failed due to a universal joint that went finally failed. i the clicking was just the axle doing wierd thibgs since the drive shaft wasnt powering it or moving along with it.

That is the thing with the driveshaft disconnected when all is well in the rear differential and axles it should not make any strange noises

I have driven a few hundred miles with out a rear driveshaft with no issues

i figuired it out

i figuired it out the previous owner didnt shim the gears and they blew apart. it caused my driveshaft to fail and it blew apart it shredded the gearing. thabks for the help and concern. the truck is back to being my daily driver.
