Tricks to changing fuel filter on 22re

If you need to know why I'm asking this, just check out my other thread here:
https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f100...k-pics-126647/

So I need to change my fuel filter. I know where it's located. My question is this: do you guys have any tricks to getting to it and changing it without removing everything around it? It doesn't look easy, but I have to do it. Truck is '91 with 22re and 4wd.

Magic is pretty much right. I had procrastinated for a few years, and finally did it while I had the front end disassembled adding BJ spacers, new pads & rotors, differential, CV axles... you get the picture. Even with everything off, it was still a pain to get my hands in there, and my hands are not exceptionally big.

take off wheel, unbolt access panel, and squeeze your hands in there and do your best, I just changed mine, I ended up just tightening the bolts back up untill I felt it was tight enough by hand, there's no way to get a torque wrench in there.

I need to change it on the ground, it's the thing I need to get it running again. I wish I had access to a lift, but I can't, as it won't run without me changing the fuel filter!

I changed mine. It was easy. Of course, the body was off the frame at the time.

Yeah, but at least I wouldn't need to be kneeling and fighting the fuel filter. Oh well, that's what I get for almost sinking my truck. I gotta do, sooner or later.

Post Air Ratchet

A strong 1/4" air ratchet with some extensions to get
it off the mount.
To get the fuel lines off a really long 1/2" ext to get
the front line off. The rear is a nice long box end like the craftsman
pro series.

Make sure you open the gas cap and take the lines off first.
