Hey guys,

Iv been spending a lot of time cleaning up the interior of my truck, trying to get it to feel new again inside. Today I was going to recover the back panel of the truck. The one that has two cargo nets attached to it. Just a plastic panel that has a few push pins and some sticky stuff holding it in place. Well i got it out, but cant figure out how to remove these two nets with out destroying the attachment points. Take a look and let me know if one of you have done this or have a good idea how to remove these. Basically it looks like there are plastic posts that stick out of the back of the cargo nets, that go through the panel and have a cone shaped pressure fit metal ring that get pushed over the posts. These metal rings have a divided cone shape that allows them to slide over the posts but dig into the plastic now allowing them to slide off.. here are some pics.

My local hardware store has those push nuts in pullout drawers (O'Reilly's auto parts or such may have them too in small packs). Measure the diameter of the post and then go hunting for new ones before using a small screwdriver or such in those gaps to pry the metal tabs open a bit to get it off.

 

Thanks for the reply rwogen. That's good to hear you have seen those type of clips if you will in the local stores. I Think the pictures make that metal clip seem bigger than it really is, I tried for a while with even an xacto knife and those slits are just so thin I can't get anything between them. Thinking I will just have to cut them off with some small cutters if possible.
