I don't want to poke holes in your rig but is that thing running right? I mean before it stopped running. It sure sounds like you had to rev it up a bit to get it to roll.

so it sounds anyway

Oh? Maybe Jay351 can hook him up with a blue canister exhaust.

lol...no exhaust and it is still running slow. I can't go uphill (not steep!) faster than 2nd gear in 2hi. I drove it down the street in 4lo in 5th though. LOL.

Anyway, my truck is toast.

I broke all the bolts around the flywheel. I bought 6 bolts from a local hardware store and they told me they would be better than the stock ones...well they all broke off. I'm pissed...I have no money to spend on this truck and I'm thinking about parting it out...or selling it whole. It has way too many problems.

That right there is a hard decision to make. If it's got more problems than you can afford to deal with then get it running, clean up the exhaust so it sounds better and sell it. It will take a little money to do this but that's the last you'll spend on it.

I'd love to sell you my 86 ext cab but it may be too clean for you.

yeah...i just don't know where to start...all the connectors are falling off....so I thought I would just turn it into a 22r. Bald tires. horrible alignment. Loud. Interior is rotten. No guages work. Milky/rusty radiator. Ugly. Paint falls off...dents everywhere.

Yeah my advice would be to get out of it. Make no mistake, I've put more into my truck than I'll ever get out of it when it sells but I had a great platform to begin with.

Get rid of the rig and keep your eyes out for something in a little better shape. I paid 1500$ for the runner I'm working on now and even though it has some issues there isn't anything huge that pisses me off about it yet.

1500$.

So far I've got less than 200$ into it for mods since I already had most of everything I needed.

You still have the 2wd yes? If so then you have a great truck to drive, which from what I remember doesn't really need anything done to it, and you can rat hole some money for a nicer (not ricer Jay) 4x4. Good deals have a tendency to just pop up, save some money and be prepared to jump on one when you find it.

take the motor and trans out, put in a 350 chevy with a th350 trans and be done with it. it would a true trail rig at that point.
