TRD rear end into a 92
Im looking at a 2000 tacoma rear end with the E-Locker right now and I was wondering if its possible to swap it into my 92 toyota 4x4 (ie same width, problems with driveshaft fittings etc.) ratio is 4.10 so no problems there. also has anybody ever done it and are you pleased with the results. also is there any problems wiring the locker. Thanks.

It is slightly wider (2 "?)
We are currently doing this to a 85 truck (5" wider than stock here). Park brake cables come from other side, and is wider. Stock U-bolts/saddle don't fit (might with slight bending). But we bought the 5" trail gear lift, so we will have U-bolt flips installed
Just started, so have not done any wiring yet.
We are doing front and rear. The 2000 should be OK for flange. We had to change 1 of ours cause it was too new (2004?)
Friend just bought a 99 elocker for his 89 4Runner, and we will be doing his this summer
Lots of info online, do a web search for elocker swap. Wiring does not look too bad, but I am comfortable with wiring.
PM me if you want some links

So would I be able to swap out 3rd members without any problems or are the diffs completely different in the two trucks.
Belize, both lockers do the same thing, let you lock it up when you need it and you are able to go back to an open diff for street and highway driving. As far as durability, I havent heard anything bad for either. my buddy funs ARB front and rear on a daily driver and he swears by it. As far as difficulty of installing, I dont really know as I have only done lunchbox lockers. But if you have never taken a diff apart before, its a good idea to have somebody there who has. Also am not sure about pricing but with the ARB you would need to buy a compressor.

You can put a E-locker into your housing, but it requires cutting a notch, welding up some surface material, and drilling and tapping holes for 2 studs.
Here are some of the write-ups I have been looking at:
