Has anyone heard of a Toyota TRD front locker ? Is this actually a toyota factory piece? If anyone has one, how have they worked for you?

No I haven't heard of it. I doubt TRD has, or ever will, make a front LSD. Definately not an OEM item (factory as you call it). LSDs don't really cut the mustard off road from just about everyone i've spoken to. Most wish they'd got a locker instead. Don't buy an auto locker for the front diff if you drive faster than ~10mph on road (ie: in snow), that leaves you with the unattractive (price-wise) option of getting a selectable locker (~$1000 installed).

If you're set on a front LSD and won't be dissuaded, you can retrofit the LSD from a pre-19?? Supra 7.5" rear diff into the 4x4 front diff.

Maybe. The Supra LSD came equipped from the factory.

 

Well yeah, But can be easily retrofitted into a front 7.5 then passed hands a few times and somewhere in the line someone could say ITS TRD ?!?!!!!

 

Buddy who has it for sale bought it on ebay and who knows what kind of mutt it is. I had never heard of this piece and couldn't find anything so thought I'd ask.

 

I thought i was pretty well versed in LSDs and lockers for the Toyota 8" and 7.5" and I've never heard of a TRD front 7.5" LSD. Its not like TRD is a obscure company either.

So, I'll need some pics or a link before I'll believe it.
