Maybe it's something to do with the valve body, that's what controls the fluid pressure to different parts of the tranny.

Did you ever find the reason or source for your trans spewing on long trips?

Mine did this to me a few times on the expressway a year or so ago, always followed by the AT Temp light in the dash coming on. I found that the lines running from the trans to the cooler in the radiator were blocked causing the trans to overheat. I fixed that and all has been good for a year.

Now the trans is spewing fluid again if I drive on the expresway for 20 miles or so. This time there are no blockages in the lines I can find. I fear my trans is overheating because it's old now (240k miles) and I really don't want to have it rebuilt.
Any ideas???

That's a whole other story.
The trans cooler lines had been cut by a trans shop when the trans was removed to check for problems a few years ago. Rather than unhook the metal lines from the trans properly the tech took a short cut and cut the lines. He used a 6 inch length of rubber fuel line hose to "fix" the cuts when he put the trans back in. One of the rubber hose links kinked and blocked the flow of trans fluid to the cooler causing my first overheating problem a year or so ago.
I pulled the rubber links out and replaced them positioning them so they can't kink again and fixed my overheating problem a year ago.
Now the lines are free and the path through the radiator cooler is free but the trans overheats on the expressway if I try to maintain 70 for 15 - 20 minutes.

Over a year ago my tranny began overheating at shorter and shorter distances. I went from driving to northern CA without a problem to 30+ freeway miles and I'm losing ATF.

The dealer has looked at my tranny about 4 times. They can't find anything wrong. Granted, they've had to replace the fluid and gasket because of the overheating, but they can't find the cause.

Have you received input on this from anyone else?
