The Toyota Vehicle Security System - Factory Alarm ("Dealer/Port Installed")
The Toyota Vehicle Security System, also known as TVSS, TDSE (Theft Deterrent System Enhancement), Toyota Part # 00398-00921 (for our trucks), Fujistu Ten Limited MW-8171, The "Why is my alarm going off, what do I do now?", etc....etc....
Not to be confused with the RS3000 RKE (Remote Keyless Entry). That specific system was after the original TVSS, and it wasn't until '96 when that was introduced into later Models.
I got really curious, too curious actually, and dug up what I could find after staring at the computer for almost 5 hours straight. Because I feel like this should at least be archived for other owners so they aren't without a paddle.
I apologize if any of this information is wrong, this information is only based on my findings from various websites.
It's very rare from what it seems, that we find these systems on our pickups. We know they exist though, however after so many years, the information on them is very scarce.
So first off, if you are in need of immediate help. Here's the official owners guide of the original TVSS.

I wasn't able to find any information about this system looking it up for a toyota pickup, fortunately, it seems the toyota car guys (supra, mr2s) keep a good source of info on this stuff because they install em on their cars. Keep things nice? idk the reason.
Other than that, there are TSBs for the system, which eventually led me to try their forums in the first place.
As you can see, this last TSB is really helpful when it comes to telling these systems apart from each other, as well as what we can or can't do interchangeability-wise.
As of now, trying to pull up the toyota part number hardly does anything at this point in time, and I have tried looking into Fujitsu Ten Limited's Website, but to no avail because they don't keep any info before '96. They probably do, but what do I know.
This does leave some questions to the variations of the alarm option though. As you can see here in these original toyota brochures, there is a difference between the alarm dash switch. These are very bad quality, but I can make out some of the words. The guy who runs this website which, I'll link below, keeps the high quality ones unless you pay a certain fee?

This first picture is from a 1990 Toyota pickup brochure and as you can see, this is the dash alarm switch we are most familiar with.
However in this 1989 Toyota pickup brochure, we see what looks like it says "Motion Sensor"? and "low - off - high" above it, along with an alarm off/on switch below it.
The only evidence that this thing even existed is in this instruction manual, which I have no idea what year it is for. It looks to be newer based off the chipped plastic key on one of the pages though.

My best guess, is that the motion sensor or "radar sensor" never came out in the states like a lot of other nice features of the Toyota truck, or maybe I'm just reaching for answers, which in complete honesty I am. Seriously, I clicked on a lot of links on the internet I probably shouldn't have out of being desperate for answers, and tiredness.
Anyways, here are a couple links I found interesting. I'm not saying they are 100% trustworthy, but they have some interesting info that may or may not be true. Do whatever at your own risk.

One last thing, if you are reading this and you know you have an RS3000, here's a link to plenty of info on that right here.

Aside from that, we know the system is plug-in-play, the base module appears to always be under the driver seat for our trucks if the option was selected, and a lot of pickup/4runner owners do not like them it seems. Maybe for the lack of an instruction manual, or maybe these systems just degrade over time. Only a person who got one new, could tell us, but at this point it doesn't really matter. Maybe check, and if you have one you could sell it. If you want to chuck it, you should send it to me instead XD.
Hope that helps anybody, good night lol.
