I followed instructs from another site. I just started using this board so I don't know if I'm allowed to post a link to anther site:

http://www.off-road.com/toyota/tech/torsion/index.htm

I found this a long time ago and kept putting it off and putting it off....thinking it was going to be hard. It was VERY easy to do. If I was to do it all over again, I would go to the local dealership and get all new hardware like mentioned.

As for alignment, I needed one done anyway so I can't comment on how it would have been without alignment. I would say do it though...

Here are a couple of pics of where it is located. This is the driver's side, behind the front tire. All three are the same area, just zoomed in.

YOu might as well just take it into an alignment shop and have them crank the torsion bars for you.

You WILL need a front end alignnment after you adjust the torsion bars, because after cranking them it alters the camber of the wheels.

I just get my suspension shop to do it. They charge me $10 to adjust both torsion bars to my liking, and then $80 for the alignment (keep in mind that's $80 CDN funds). That way you can do it all in one place. Go in, and go out, no issues.
