so I'm trying to replace my torsion bars. got the old ones out. had to grind off the bolt head since whole adjustment nut up top would spin with the bolt. then I had to cut the bar itself in half to get it all out since the bolt went through my floor board. now I got the new ones and I'm struggling to get it in since the adjustment bar wants to stick up against the floorboard. how do I get the bar to rotate while its in there. I cant get the adjustment bolt in there. is it possible I don't have it on the right splines?

 

You might get some responses with some basic information about said vehicle and pictures.

 

It's a pain, but if they are the correct torsion bars you should be able to get them in there. May help to make the control arms horizontal when you do it, but even that shouldn't make too much of a difference since it only adjusts the preload. They are a pain in the butt, make sure you are following the correct way to put em in though, if I recall correctly they have a marks on them for how they get installed.

I've done it twice and I don't recall it being that much of a pain....

Stating the obvious
-- truck is on stands or a lift
-- front tires are removed (weight)
-- you have the correct index spline on the front socket
