Tire Selection for mud!

Tire Selection for mud!
I have an 88 P/U tht I just got finshed putting a superlift 4" lift on. I purchased 4 inch rear springs and the downey torsion bars as well. I am looking for tires and am a little stumped. Last time I purchased tires for a truck my options were super swampers or ground hawgs. Now there are so many choices it is confusing. I plan to only use the truck for mud bogs (50%), off roading in mud, dirt some sandy dirt (25%) and street driving to and from cruise night or tooling around on a sunday morning (25%). Tire noise is not a concern. Tires that I like are... Swamper boggers, Swamper TSL, BFG Muds... what do you think gives best mud traction? What gives best of both worlds? I am trying to weigh the pro's and cons of going with a full on mud tire. Any thoughts? As always...thanks

If you wanna cruise in the mud, the skinnier the better. You dont want to plow thru it (kills speed) you want to sink to bottom and grip. Most of our trucks lack power (4 and 6 bangers) But.................... hey, if you got a V8 getcha some wide boggers and "float on top" this takes tremendous power to do.

I HIGHLY suggest you dont run a bogger. yea, its the best mud tire...but that comes with downfalls. You have an 88 pickup= IFS. Boggers destroy yota IFS SO fast its not even funny. I've seen it first hand for years. ide love to run boggers, but i would never run them on my IFS. I suggest you look at TSLs or LTBs. Stiil extremly agressive, but not as heavy as a bogger and not as hard on the front end.

If you run a somewhat narrow bogger you are going tear up the truck unless you are hard on the skinny peddle, if your driving style is described more by "power" or "momentum" verses "finesse" then definitely don't go with wide boggers.
