I am putting the head on as i type, i got it all torqued down like the fsm says, now my problem is i cant get the timing chain up on the cam, it seems to short. I have moved the crank back and forth while holdin up on the chain, but still no luck. Any suggestions?

you need to depress the tensioner with a long thin pry bar, this should get you the slack you need. if you used a kit with plastic guides, and i hope you didn't be sure not to break them while prying. make sure your timing marks are correct and TDC and,don't force anything.

ps put what kind of junk you are working on in your sig.

pss use a couple of zip tie to secure the chain to the cam sprocket, this will help help the marks lined up.

 

another tip: DOnt put the guides on until very last. They slip in behind the chain, and that way you dont risk breaking them by prying on them.

i was going to say move the crank pulley back and forth a couple of times it will slip right on
