Timing chain FUBAR - need help!

Last week I installed a new timing chain, gears, sliders and tensioner on my 22re. All was well for about 1000 miles and just today it starts clack, clack, clack, clack. So I pull the valve cover to whats going on and the timing chain is loose! not loose enogh to skip a tooth or anything but definatly loose like the tensioner failed! It was a NAPA kit and now I have to take the whole dam thing apart again. Is there any other alternative? Is there any way to put tension on the chain or diagnose the tensioner before I rip this dam thing apart again?

Thanks

Andy
