Timing Belt

I have a '94 3.0L V6 and I am doing the timing belt. No problem getting the marks lined up except for when I push the fan pulley cover, it moves one of the marks... the fan pulley cover and the tensioner rub against the moveable idler pulley housing. Any info/suggestions anyone can offer would be appreciated.

which pulley is off, is it the left side cam pulley? how many teeth off? its normal to be half a tooth off. and its hard to tell what you are describing is rubbing, but it sounds like you're talking about the tensioner touching the tensioner pulley arm, which is what it's supposed to do. any pictures?

Is that fan bracket not aligned with the correct mounting holes?

It not upside down... I wish it were. You can see the tensioner on the left side of the pic. Thanks though... I double checked after reading your post even though I knew it wasn't.

If the marks are off slightly there is enough slack to get the fan pulley on but like I said, the marks are off.

After looking at other pics I realized it was not upside down.

Do you have the pin in the hydraulic tensioner compressed? I cannot tell in your pics.

See the third to the last photo in post #1:

Thanks for the help RW, it turns out that the new mount for the "swing" bearing/pulley underneath the R cam was a bit bulkier then the old one that I was replacing it with. I switched the bearing/pulley and all is good
