Time for paint!
Decided i was gonna paint my rig finally. Just to really keep it from rusting more than anything.lol. im gonna do the good old jeep tractor and implement paint in massey ferguson gray. truck was originally gray so keeps me from painting the jams. only bit of body work is replacing a front fender and then patching a hole in my bed. other than taht im just gonna prep, primer and paint. here is my question though. the molding around the door that is chrome and the little black piece on the cab where the window meets thats plastic. how do i remove those and is it even needed for a budget job. im pulling the bed so i can paint the whole cab, but just wanting to get some ideas. also for budget jobs what all do yall remove and not just mask up instead. ill post pictures as i do it, any help would be greatly appreciated.

so decided to pull the bed today. horrible day! rained all dang day, but still got my bed off and sprayed down the frame. lol. while raining. no worries no lightning or anything. but pulled the bed attempted to weld up my little half dollar size rust spot but welder wasnt wanting to play. kept trying to blow through anyways. i was thinking of possibly using some fiber glass resin/bondo and try that. any ideas on that? also like a dummy i put duplicolor bedliner in the pickup and it sucks so bad. no big deal but the dang stuff is up on the side of my bed like, my rails. took a wire wheel to it and i swear it sticks better than it was. lol. whats the easies way yall have pulled it off. i dont care bout screwing up the paint obviously b/c im in the process of painting it. ill try and keep yall posted on how everything is going. hopefully this week i can get it sanded and primered and then next week spray her. thanks again fellas

what kinda gun and compressor are you using? in the middle of painting mine myself....
all the moldings and trim come off really easy except for the windshield. if you pull that you pretty much need to redo the urethane. everything else comes off easy enough to just do it so you don't get rust starting there and creeping into your nice new job in a year....

man, i've shopped compressors and decided too expensive !!! What cfm output do you need min to work your gun? seems all the specs i can find on guns are around 7-9 cfm..... and that's a pretty pricey compressor......
