Time has come do to something with the 91
Ok,I just sold my 88 K5 for 6,000 so that makes 6,500 total spending for the runner.I need to put a new motor in as this one is knocking and reaks of fuel.I need new wheel bearings, ball joints also. Now I may order the motor through Orient or have it built at the machine shop, shop is 2,000,Orient is 2,300.I need new injectors as these are 198,000 miles old. While I'm at it I may lift it 4" and stick some 33's and 5.29's in.I also want to regear my 87 with 4.88's and put in a different tranny so I have a few decisions to make.I will be at least replacing the motor in the 91 but can't decide what to do with the rest.I am buying a billet grill and new bumper for it though.Any suggestions? It will be my daily driver with the family camping trips, nothing to big.

I would just send the injectors off to be cleaned and new screens and pintles put in them. Would save about $150. If you got that much moolah then I would swap out that nasty 3.0. Oh yeh...and throw away the front valance and get a new front bumper while you're at it

Yeah,I'm ordering a new bumper, valance and billet grill for it.I think I am sending off the injectors.Any recomendations on a place?I would do a swap but I don't want to spend that much on just the motor when the rest of the truck could use a few things.

I mailed mine to Silver Truck because he knew someone in Washington that did it by his house. Cruzin Performance also does it and seems to be reputable on the boards. www.cruzinperformance.com
I would really consider an engine from Orient. That way you know "surprises" don't pop up with the mechanic messing with it and you having to either wait longer or shell out more money for something else.

I'm doing the swap.I would just have the machine shop build it for me.He builds toyota motors for the dealer so he knows his stuff but I have heard nothing but good thigs about Orient.

Well,I just made an appointment for tuesday to have some 4.88 Yukons installed on my 87 runner.I should notice a huge difference!I went from stock,to stock motor pushing 33's,to modified motor pushing 33's,and now will have the gear behind it.It should do awsome now.I am having my engine built at the machine shop and I'm buying myself another trans am as my project so I'm happy now.
