Tightening the shift pattern in a '93 Pickup

What I love most about my truck over others I've driven is its tight and snappy shift pattern. Lately, gear-by-gear the stick's been getting looser and looser. Now 1st and 3rd gear the stick can move around like its in neutral.

How the hell do I go about restoring it to its previously tight and stiff movement?

I have a spare seat and bushing I picked up from marlin crawler I'd sell ya if you want. It's jus a poly bushing that goes in the shifter top and replaces all that slop the wore out rubber one has. And the new ball goes on the shifter handle
