Throttle Position Sensor

Hey guys, I have a bunch of symptoms that match a TPS problem. I've looked at the 4 crawler stuff, but have a really basic question I can't seem to find there.

I took off throttle body and pulled off TPS. I am wondering how to put the TPS back on.
i.e. put on at 3:00 position and rotate to 12:00.

I did put it on at 3 and rotate to 12, the other way I didn't feel any resistance. However, now when i start it up it starts revving really high by itself, like the Stephen King Christine movie, and it's really scaring me.

revving high on its own sounds like an air leak.. did you rip/pinch the throttle body gasket?

Possibly, I will check that.

To restate my original question a different way:

When I insert the TPS into the body, it should move the throttle on the opposite side as I move it forward and backward, correct?
