Question Are there any solid bumpers that'll fit around stock carrier?

So i'm looking into getting a rear bumper for my 2nd gen 4runner. It has the stock swing away carrier which I actually like, it's simple and still works (knock on wood.) I see all the rear bumpers that have the curved protection ie. Trail-gear, Marlin etc. My first thought was to maybe cut the bumper so it'll fit around it, then I thought maybe I could just remove the plastic cup that covers the hinge (not sure if that'll work) and then I found this picture. . .

The guy is a member here but hasn't been on for a while. So this picture made me think I could just get that sort of bumper but I am yet to find one like that. Any one have an after market bumper with the stock carrier?

I also had thought about the EMS kit but it is to my understanding that you need to build/weld the entire arm for it and I have no experience in welding so I scratched that idea. If anyone has any suggestions, they would be greatly appreciated. (And I hope this is in the correct forum.)

I'm not a 4runner guy so I don't have your answer. But I do have an opinion. The only way to get experience welding is to burn holes in lots of stuff and make a whole bunch of crappy welds. Go buy a second hand welder and make a bumper exactly like you want. And if it doesn't look and work just like you want it to...sell it online and make another one. Then since you have all that new welding stuff you can make all sorts of useful things! Like spice racks, and pencil holders!

Addicted Bumper?

I would contact Addicted Offroad. I have an AOR front bumper on my 3rd gen. I love it its made really well. A tube bumper like the one in the picture AOR sells for about $274. He is a custom fab shop I would give Scotty a call and see if he could do a little custom work on it. I bet he could have it done in no time.

Haha believe me I would love to learn to weld, I see it as a great and very important skill to have, especially when it comes to wheeling But I am just not in a position to learn/build right now. So in the meantime, i'll buy a bumper

Wheel spacer

just a thought but how about mounting a wheel spacer on the stock carrier to clear the bumper
still the receiver may be blocked

if you or maybe a friend had a welder you could raise the plate mounting on the stock carrier to clear the bumper
