So I have only had my 88 4Runner for a few days now. Of course the rear window does not work. I popped off the center console and found the PO had bypassed the window lock I think. The green and blue wires on the window lock switch have been cut and spliced together. They looked corroded so I stripped them back and re-spliced them and now the rear window works. Now that the window works I started poking around in the back where I haven't spent much time. I noticed the passenger side tailgate latch is not latching and am assuming that is the root cause of the rear window failure. Now all that being said, can someone post a link to tailgate latch repair for me? Also, any advice or links to other repair/maintenance while I'm in there would be great.
